This is the north edge of downtown Galveston from 24th St to 10th St, from the Galveston Channel down to Church St. It covers the Strand, the Postoffice Street district, the Strand UTMB corridor, the East End Historic District, UTMB, Harborside Drive and the Harborside district.
The Seawall district shows Seawall Blvd from 37th to 19th St, today and as the Galveston 2050 proposal from Build Your Seawall would build it. In explore mode, take the bus from the stop at 25th and Church to ride there.
Everything here shows today. Streets and shorelines are traced from map data. Buildings are traced from aerial imagery at the block level, so sizes and heights are close, not surveyed.
The colored outlines are where Galveston 2050 proposes change: the Strand, the Postoffice Street district, the Strand UTMB corridor, the East End Historic District, UTMB, Harborside Drive, the Harborside district and the Seawall. Build 2050 shows the proposed Heritage Line trolley and Strand Station, the bus and trolley hub at 25th St and the Strand. More build tools come next.
